Kesantunan berbahasa sangatlah penting diperhatikan para pelaku komunikasi (komunikator dan komunikan). Hal ini semakin terasa urgensinya tatkala dikaitkan dengan prilaku berbahasa di kalangan generasi muda, terutama remaja yang notabene, umumnya masih berada di jenjang SMP dan SLA (SMA/MA dan SMK). Oleh karena itu, masalah kesantunan berbahasa di kalangan mereka harus mendapatkan perhatian serius semua pihak di semua kawasan: di rumah, di masyarakat, dan di sekolah. Di rumah melalui pendidikan orang tua, di masyarakat di antaranya melalui contoh kesantunan berbahasa para tokoh, dan di sekolah melalui keteladanan kesantunan berbahasa para guru dan karyawan, terutama dalam proses belajar-mengajar di kelas yang dilakukan oleh semua guru mata pelajaran, meskipun titik pijaknya diharapkan berawal dari proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh guru bahasa di kelas
